30th November – Louth Hoochie Coochie Blues Club

Travelling to Louth to play with Guy Tortora was a long but rewarding night! Playing for the Hoochie Coochie Blues Club 2 year anniversary was an honour! Guy is a superb performer and musician and I hope to do more gigs with him soon!

23th November – Hoxton Underbelly, Shoreditch 

The funk was strong with Blow Minds when we played in the heart of Shoreditch. This gig really kept me on my toes though…tough tunes.

12th November – Peckham RYE WAX

Aymee Weir’s show at Rye Wax was a very intimate show. I enjoy being close to the audience! We played a few new tunes for the first time too which was daring but very fun.

1st November – Deaf Institute, Manchester

Thanks to the The Johnny Oates Band for having me on bass for their big Manchester show. It’s one I’ll always look back on!

20th October – Pokie and Roll, Kingston

I really enjoyed playing my original tunes outside Pokie and Roll. The weather was good and so was the food. If you’re ever in Kingston, check it out!

My FIRST gig with Backwoods Creek was in Coventry. These guys are so much fun and I can’t wait for more gigs with them!

October 22nd – The Islington, Angel – LYRA

An early slot for Lyra at The Islington. It’s lways a very interesting gig but the turnout was good so thanks to everybody attending.

October 12th – The Cavern, Wimbledon

Not long after Hamburg, The Second Sons ACED the set at The Cavern in Wimbledon. Hopefully there’s more to come.

October 3rd – Germany

The Second Sons, first gig after a 6 month break was in Germany. What a night. Thanks MSH Medical School for hosting.

September 29th – Balham Feast Market

It was a wet, rather chilly day but I still managed to busk in Balham. A good money earner though.

September 27th – The Workshop, London

It’s been a while since LYRA’s performed in the heart of Shoreditch and oh my, it did not disappoint. The Workshop, although small was packed and everybody loved our set!

September 21st – Fulham North End Road Market

Hopefully you caught my set at Fulham North End Road. The weather was fantastic and it’s always a joy to play for the market goers.

September 20th – King’s College London Freshers event

The Johnny Oates Band smashed the set at KCL Freshers fair. It was a chilly night in the main square but it was packed full of budding new students. Cool night!

September 17th – Green Note, Camden

Emily Faye played a sold out show, suppoting the incredible Katy Hurt. What a gig, it was great hearing the audience singing along,

September 1st – Timeoff Festivals – Lingfield 

Yet another main stage show for Lethbridge Owen and wow, this stage was HUGE. It was a hot day, the band was on fire and the audience were left wanting more…it’s couldn’t have been any better really!

August 31st – The Gladstone Arms

Sometimes, intimate gigs are the best. The Gladstone doesn’t seat many people but the gig goers LOVE live music and really show their appreciation. AYMEE WEIR went down a storm she’s so much to play with.

August 25th – Meraki Festival – St Albans

Where do I even start with this? WHAT A GIG! Main stage, perfect weather, huge audience. It just couldn’t have been better. Check out my blog to find some special photos of the band grooving hard.

August 11th – Lakefest 

AYMEE’s first ever band show was incredible. WOW and what a crowd. I will also thank the torrential rain that kept all the festival goers in our tent, thanks for making it a busy gig! Check out BBC Hereford and Worcester for the live set!

August 10th – Spice of Life Cafe, Leicester Square

Lyra played a blinding set to a busy, engaged crowd! I’ve always enjoyed playing this great, historical venue. It’s got such a great vibe about it.

July 27th – Sandwich

Lethbridge Owen travelled to the far corners of Kent to play on Academy FM before heading to Sandwich to play at Fleur De Lis in the evening. The gig was packed and so much fun! What a day!

July 25th – BBC Oxford / The Bullingdon

I had an amazing time performing on the radio during the day and then playing at The Bullingdon in the evening with Lethbridge Owen. It was a very eventful day and will go down as one my favourites.

July 14th – FSA Country Music Festival

Emily Faye played her heart out and what a place to do it. Thanks to FSA Fest for having us. The stage was huge and the crowd LOVED every second of it. I’m sure I heard some singing out there too…! Country music is something I really enjoy playing and I know Emily Faye will make it!

July 12th – Flummoxed Festival – Bletchley 

Thanks to Flummoxed Festival for a great time. LYRA smashed the set! There was a good crowd and it was nice to get away from London for a gig. The tent had a fab sound too, all in all, a success.

July 3rd – Black Heart Camden

What an opportunity it was to support up and coming Latin prog Americana player, Felix Martin on the UK leg of his tour. Wow! Thanks to those that came out, it was a dream.

June 29th – Fulham Market

It’s always a treat to play Fulham’s market! The crowd is always very supportive of original music and there’s always been a smashing turnout! See you at the next one.

June 4th – Casa Manolo – Putney 

I’ve really enjoyed my time playing at Casa Manolo! What a place and thanks to the restaurant for having me play!

4th May – The Cavern, Wimbledon

The Second Sons always put on the best shows and to be in such an amazing band is the dream. As always, The Cavern was packed and a joy to play!

3rd May – The Sound House, Leicester

The Second Sons took a trip to Leicester! What a gig! The Sound House had one of the best sounds on stage the band has ever experienced. WOW!

Night two with Emily Faye and we ventured down to Leigh-On-Sea to play a really hip place! It was a great night put on by ArtWillFall and it was super playing to a packed room, again!

6th April – The Gladstone Arms

They say intimate gigs are the best and I might even agree! Lyra’s most intimate show yet in a small pub in Borough. Packed, just packed!

Emily and her biggest gig yet, supporting the Foo Fighters’ guitarist, Chris Shiflet in Brighton! Awesome stage, awesome sound tech! One for the history books!

30th March – The Waterfront, Norwich

What a gig! Jake Morrell is an excellent frontman and this gig was so much fun! It was a full crowd and to hear people singing his tunes was just great!

22nd March – Les Faux Nez

Charlyn’s EP launch party for ‘Water’ was incredible. A sold out night and what a small intimate venue. We had an amazing team of sound engineers, light techs and staff! What a gig!!

14th March – 93 FeetEast

Lyra’s gig at this iconic Shoreditch venue was incredible. What I night of music, full crowd. Couldn’t have been better.

8th – 10th March – Cruise to Bruges

My first cruise, with Earl Jackson was incredible and what an experience. I quite like boat life but sometimes it’s tricky to stand still with the motion of the boat.

2nd March – The Magic Garden 

The Second Sons blew the crowd away at The Magic Garden. It’s turning into one of my favourite venues to play. It’s amazing.

1st March – The Hope and Anchor

Lyra played a really great set at The Hope and Anchor in Islington. It was great to play at such a historic venue too.

24th February – Sakenotecca – Soho

The United Kingdom played a small intimate set, very much like a SOFAR. It was a good night and busy and the songs went down a treat, as did the Sake.

23rd February – The Tropic of Ruislip

The Second Sons ventured out to North West LDN, to Ruislip. It was a really enjoyable show and cool that we played alongside friends and band, the Du Bellows. They play with us again at Leicester at the Sound House on May 3rd.

22nd February – Jam in a Jar, Harringay

If EVERY show is like this one then that would be just super. It’s not every day you see people dancing on the bar but when it happens, you know the music is hitting the spot.

What a special night for The Second Sons. The Cavern was HEAVING and you know it’s a good night when you play 3 encores…!!

5th February – Underbelly, Shoreditch

Emily Faye and band played a smashing acoustic set. It was nice to see the audience singing along to the songs too.

Well it was wet. Wet, wet, wet! thanks to the organisers for putting together a great day full of fab stalls!

The Christmas tunes were flowing and the vibes were buzzing! What a night! BOTA and the band were on point!

1st December – Hammersmith 

It’s always a blast playing markets in London but Hammersmith’s Christmas market was something else. What a special festive day! Loved it!

30th November – Hugo’s, Kilburn

There’s always time for a last minute gig and this was just a tad crazy. Get a 5 piece, loud, energised rock and roll band and stick them in a tiny restaurant for a private party and you have a kicking night. The Second Sons ALWAYS put on the best shows.

24th November – Harrogate Convention Centre

It was SO exciting to travel north with Emily Faye to play for the BCMA Awards. The country scene is on the up and to be involved in the movement is special. There’s lots of great music in the country scene and it’s slowly becomming more recognised. I’m convinced Emily Faye will go far come 2019.

22nd November – The Troubadour

As always the Second Sons rocked and rolled it! What a night. It was extra special too because we were filimg live video to sync with our tracks for the album coming out early next year!

What a great day, I got to play at a birthday party in Roehampton and despite the rain, it was a FAB day. I showcased all my original material through a great speaker system. The BeatBuddy is incredible. WOW, just WOW!

25th August – Kent Cricket Club

Being a dep bass player is certainly cool. I got to gig with a really great band called, Soul Train. They are amazing musicians and they really know how to groove and play.

18th August – Rochdale Feel Good Fest 2018 

THAT WAS ONE OF THE BEST GIGS I’VE EVER PLAYED, WOW! Emily Faye and band played a dream set and what a stage too?!?! Now it’s time to get into the studio and get recorded some new tunes for you all!

27th July – The Musician – Leicester 

The Second Sons travelled down to Leicester to play a cool venue called, The Musician. Awesome place, cool vibe and some people traveled MILES to see us! It was great to recognise some audience members from our gigs with Greta Van Fleet and The Struts too.

26th July – The Troubadour 

Never have I played such a sweaty. hot gig. The Second Sons kicked off the new residency with a bang. Wow.

25th July – The Dublin Castle – Camden 

The weather was hot and so was the band, Lyra headlined the night. The Dublin Castle was busy and the RnB/Neo-Soul vibes vibe with the audience. All in all, a good night out.

21st July – Boondocks Festival

Country festivals are my new favourite gig…just wow! Emily Faye and the band started the Saturday off with a bang, we got the festival goers out and up from their tents and gave them a show to remember. Next gig I play with Em is on the 18th August, we’re supporting Feeder.

20th July – The Islington – Angel 

What a joy it was to perform a quiet intimate set with Bella McKendree at The Islington.  It was a busy night and the band was on form. We performed the tracks on Bella’s new, (just being finalised) album!

Part 1 of Emily Faye’s EP launch was on a boat, called The Ark. It’s a very cool venue and we packed it out! The band sounded on point and it was a really great celebration of her release!

It was the first time The Second Sons have played the Hard Rock Cafe and damn, what a venue and what a show!

20th April – The Troubadour

Brendan Cleary’s single launch of, ‘Welcome To My World’ couldn’t have gone any better! What a night! We packed out Notting Hill Arts Club and made it a night to remember.

July 3rd 2016 – Ampthill Festival 

I performed at Ampthill Festival in Bedfordshire with Emily Faye. We opened the show for the ‘amazing’ Dick and Dom! It was great, sunny and thanks to everybody that came down.

June 21st, 24th, 26th and 1st July 2016 – Switzerland 

Charlyn released her EP over in Switzerland during June. The tour was incredible and the video footage is beautiful. It will be uploaded when it’s been finished.

I had the true joy of performing with Charlyn, as well as The Strangers at the O2 Forum in Kentish town for the BIMM London Graduation Showcase. It was an amazing experience and performing on a stage like that was unbelievable.

I was asked to perform and play bass alongside the great Oli Rockberger for a specialist BIMM London masterclass. Oli has worked with John Mayer and Gloria Gaynor, plus others and it was a real joy to perform with him.

His new album comes out this year and I encourage you to get it because the songs on there are seriously kickin’!

It was a superb opportunity, one to remember. A good example of how session-ing really works.
